Strike the Blood (ストライク・ザ・ブラッド Sutoraiku za Buraddo) is an anime series based on the light novels of the same name. The series premiered on October 4, 2013. Subsequent releases have been released in OVA format.

Staff and Cast[]

The anime was co-produced by Silver Link and Connect up until the second season. The series has been solely produced by Connect since the third season. It is directed by Hideyo Yamamoto with scripts by Hiroyuki Yoshino and character design by Keiichi Sano. The music used in the series was composed by Assumed Sounds.

1 1 The Right Arm of the Saint I Itogami Island is a manmade island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean where summer never ends. A high school student at Saikai Academy, Kojou Akatsuki, is on his way home from studying with his classmates, Asagi Aiba and Motoki Yaze, when he notices a girl in the Saikai Academy middle school uniform following him.
2 2 The Right Arm of the Saint II Yukina moves into the room next to Kojou's. When Kojou sees that she only has a bare minimum of furniture and necessities, he takes her to a hardware store. Kojou's younger sister Nagisa also insists on hosting a welcome party for Yukina, adding up to a very lively day.
3 3 The Right Arm of the Saint III The morning after the battle against the Combat Deacon and his homunculus, the town is left in ruins. Yukina had been shocked to see how vastly Kojou's power exceeded that of the Familiar, but now she learns that Kojou can't even control his own Familiars. Kojou and Yukina pursue the escaped Eustach and Astarte to an abandoned laboratory, where another intense battle awaits them...
4 4 The Right Arm of the Saint IV Eustach and Astarte continue their assault, finally launching an attack on the central support of the manmade island. When Kojou learns that Asagi is trapped inside, he's eager to save her, but his inability to control his own Familiars holds him in place. Unable to see him go on like this, Yukina makes a suggestion he never expected...
5 5 From the Warlord's Empire I It's nearly time for the Saikai Academy ball sports tournament, and Yukina and Nagisa are all fired up to act as cheerleaders! And thanks to the workings of Motoki and Rin, Kojou and Asagi are paired up to participate in the badminton doubles match for their class. Meanwhile, Natsuki is occupied with the capture of some therianthropes that have appeared in the warehouse district, and someone is targeting the Fourth Progenitor again...
6 6 From the Warlord's Empire II Kojou and Yukina meet Dimitrie Vatler, a nobleman who shows an abnormal degree of affection toward the Fourth Progenitor, and Sayaka Kirasaka, Yukina's old friend also under the employ of the Lion King Organization. When Vatler proposes that Kojou capture some terrorists hiding out on Itogami Island and Yukina volunteers to take care of them instead, Vatler challenges Yukina to test her suitability for the task. And, though Sayaka has always been a friend of Yukina's since childhood, her behavior starts to change...
7 7 From the Warlord's Empire III In her excessive defense of Yukina, Sayaka launches an attack on Kojou, but he can't control his powers. Yukina's arrival prevents the situation from growing dire, but Yukina leaves them both on the school roof to think about what they've done.
8 8 From the Warlord's Empire IV Gardos the terrorist has reawakened the ancient weapon, Nalakuvera. Kojou and Sayaka barely escape with their lives, but they fall into the depths of the manmade island. Asagi hurries to analyze and control Nalakuvera while Yukina fights a fierce battle to stop Gardos.
9 9 The Amphisbaena I The trouble with the Black Death Emperor Faction has been resolved. Kojou has returned to his daily life with Sayaka as a new acquaintance, but he can't decide whether or not he should reveal his vampiric nature to Asagi. It's around that time when he meets a friend of Nagisa's, Kanon Kanase, known as the middle school saint.
10 10 The Amphisbaena II Kojou and Yukina prepare to ambush Possession Mask, the group responsible for the attacks around Itogami Island... but one of the Possession Mask members they see is Kanon Kanase.
11 11 The Amphisbaena III The deserted island turns out to be a research facility owned by Magus Craft where Kanon's father, Kensei, conducts research. Kojou and Yukina are attacked by a vanguard force, but the one to save them from danger is Princess La Folia of Aldegia, a young woman with deep connections to both Kanon and Kojou.
12 12 The Amphisbaena IV When Kojou is disabled in the battle with Kanon, Yukina retreats with him behind La Folia's barrier. Both Yukina and La Folia share their blood with Kojou to aid in his recovery and the awakening of a new power. They have no choice but to rush to Kanon's rescue as her ego slips beyond control and she loses her grip on her humanity.
13 13 Labyrinth of the Blue Witch I Itogami Island's tourist industry flourishes as the season of the annual Halloween Fest draws near. Kojou reunites with his childhood friend Yuuma Tokoyogi for the first time in four years, but Yukina and Asagi are not pleased to see the intimate friendship she shares with him. Meanwhile, when the Meyer Sisters suddenly appear at the Keystone Gate, the "witch of the void," Natsuki, finds herself in danger...
14 14 Labyrinth of the Blue Witch II Still stuck in Yuuma's body after the mind switch, Kojou rushes to see Yukina and the other girls. At first they're unsure whether to believe him, but after an explanation, Kojou and Yukina try to locate Yuuma in Kojou's body as they draw closer to unraveling the mystery of the witch of the void.
15 15 Labyrinth of the Blue Witch III Yuuma's goal was to use the Fourth Progenitor's magic power to free her mother from the prison barrier. In accordance with her plans, the prison barrier appears above the ocean's surface near Itogami Island.
16 16 Fiesta For The Observers I Kojou comes out of the battle with his own body back, but both Yuuma and Natsuki have fallen. The true prison barrier has been revealed along with Yuuma's mother, Aya Tokoyogi, and the other magic criminals who were incarcerated within.Kojou escapes with Yukina and injured yuuma with the help of Sayaka.They head to meet Kojous mother to heal Yuuma.
17 17 Fiesta For The Observers II Kojou and company search for Natsuki, whose spiritual powers were stolen by Aya's grimoire and is now missing. Just then, Yukina's surprised voice directs the others' attention to the TV, where Asagi is seen on the live broadcast of the Halloween Fest...
18 18 Fiesta For The Observers III Kojou and Asagi take Sana on board Vatler's boat, the Oceanus Grave II, to protect her from danger. But Kojou's relief is short-lived as he is soon accosted by Vatler's beautiful young maids, and his stimulation is pushed very close to the limit when he ends up sharing a bath with Asagi...
19 19 Fiesta For The Observers IV Through Sana, Yukina sees a memory of Natsuki and Aya ten years ago, and then dreams of a happier world she shares with Kojou, Sayaka, and their friends.
20 20 Return Of The Alchemist I Yukina and the other middle school girls are preparing to embark on Saikai Academy's traditional training camp. Yukina is worried about leaving Kojou as she has been released from her observer duties for the trip's duration, but Kojou tells her with a smile to go enjoy her time off.
21 21 Return Of The Alchemist II Asagi has been caught up in Kou's attack. Kojou and Yukina rush to save her, deciding to take her to Mimori's lab for treatment... but when they stop at Kojou's place on the way, another personality takes over Asagi's body.
22 22 Return Of The Alchemist III In his quest to resurrect Wiseman, Amatsuka has finally launched an attack on the ferry carrying Yukina and her classmates. Kanon, believing the others will be safe if she's gone, confronts Amatsuka and tells the sad story of what happened at the monastery five years ago.
23 23 Empire of the Dawn I "Goodbye, Himeragi..." After hearing Kojou say this to her in a dream, Yukina begins to contemplate her future and the coming of the day when she may have to leave Kojou's side.
24 24 Empire of the Dawn II Shortly after Yukina lost the use of Snowdrift Wolf and received an order to return to the Lion King Organization, Itogami Island begins to fall apart under attacks from a magical beast that consumes dragon veins.

Kingdom of Valkyrja I Trine, interested with Kojou, spies on him from the rooftop of a nearby building from the restaurant where he is at together with Yukina, meeting La Folia together with her parents, Lucas and Polifonia. Later on, Trine then infiltrates the Rihaveins' party, where Kanon Kanase with Astarte, Kojou with Yukina, and Asagi Aiba are invited in and Sayaka Kirasaka currently assigned at, and disguises as the party's staff, appearing as one of their servers, as cover.
Kingdom of the Valkyria II
Who Moved My Lance? Kojou and Yukina have won the battle with Vattler over the “Cleansing" Kojou became the de facto ruler of Itogami Island by making it his "Dominion," but his daily life was not much different from before. At that time, the Lion King Organization and the Bureau of Astrology decide to jointly investigate a marine accident of unknown cause that is occurring in the waters around Itogami Island. Meanwhile, Kojou wakes up to hear a voice calling him. His memory is hazy, and the sight that jumps into his field of vision is the blanket he had apparently been wrapped up in, and Yukina's face, her cheeks red and pleading with her through tears. "Senpai...I lost something important..."


Season 1[]

Strike the Blood is the first season of the anime series. It was announced on July 10, 2013.[1] The first season aired between October 4, 2013 and March 28, 2014 for 24 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the anime in selected regions.[2] The first opening theme song is "Strike the Blood" by Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets, and the second opening theme is "Fight 4 Real" by ALTIMA. The first ending theme song is "Strike my soul" by Yuka Iguchi, and the second ending theme is "signal" by Kanon Wakeshima. The first season adapts volumes 1-6 of the original light novel series.

OVA: Kingdom of the Valkyria[]

Strike the Blood: Kingdom of the Valkyria (ストライク・ザ・ブラッド ヴァルキュリアの王国篇 Strike the Blood: Valkyria no Oukoku-hen) is an OVA of the anime series. It was announced at the Dengeki Game Festival 2015.[3] The OVA is an original story written by Gakuto Mikumo, and features returning cast from the first season.[4] The opening theme song is "Little Charm Fang" by Yuka Iguchi, while the ending theme song is "Kimi wa Soliel" by Kanon Wakeshima. Crunchyroll streamed the OVA in selected regions.[5]

Plot:
The Kingdom of Aldegia and the Warlord's Empire are holding a signing ceremony to extend their mutual non-aggression treaty. While La Folia is with them, Kojou does not anticipate meeting them as they are busy with work. However, an evil terrorist plot threatens the signing ceremony, and it is up to Kojou and Yukina to stop them from succeeding.

Strike the Blood II[]

Strike the Blood II is the second season of the anime series. The sequel was announced on August 2016 with returning cast and staff, as well as new cast members.[6] The 8-episode OVA was released between November 23, 2016 and May 24, 2017. The opening theme song is "Blood on the EDGE" by Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets, and the ending theme song is "Fortune Number 0405" by Risa Taneda. Crunchyroll streamed the OVA in selected regions.[5] The sequel adapted volumes 9, 11 & 12 of the light novels.

Strike the Blood III[]

Strike the Blood III is the third season of the anime series. It was first announced on March 2018,[7] with returning cast and staff.[8] Unlike previous seasons, Strike the Blood III is produced solely by Connect. Further news revealed more cast members and release dates.[9] The 10-episode OVA was released between December 19, 2018 and September 25, 2019 in five volumes. The opening theme song is Blood and Emotions by Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets, while the ending theme song is LOVE STOIC by Risa Taneda. Crunchyroll licensed the OVA in selected regions.[5]

OVA: Disappearing Holy Lance[]

Strike the Blood: Disappearing Holy Lance Arc (ストライク・ザ・ブラッド 消えた聖槍篇 Strike the Blood: Kieta Seisō-hen, Who Moved My Lance?) is an OVA of the series. It was announced on October 6, 2019, along with the fourth season of the series.[10] It is produced by Connect with returning cast and staff, as well as new cast members.[11] The 1-episode OVA was released on January 29, 2020. The opening theme song is Akatsuki no Kaleido Blood by Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets, while the ending theme is Dear My Hero by Risa Taneda.

Plot:
Kojou and Yukina have won the battle against Vatler over "Shogaku".
Kojou became the substantial ruler of the island by making Itogami Island its own "Empire of the Night", but spent much of his daily life as before.
At that time, the Lion Agency and the Taishi Bureau conducted a joint investigation on an unidentified marine accident occurring in the sea area around Itogami Island.
On the other hand, Kojou wakes up after hearing a voice. The spectacle that jumped into his sight, whose memory was also dim, was a blanket and a cheek that seemed to have been wrapped and sleeping, cheeking, and Yukina's face appealing with tears.

Strike the Blood IV[]

Strike the Blood IV is the fourth season of the series. It was announced alongside the OVA episode on October 6, 2019.[10] Like previous seasons, it will be released in OVA format. The 12-episode OVA will be released in six volumes between April 8, 2020 and June 30, 2021. The opening theme song is Akatsuki no Kaleido Blood by Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets, while the ending theme is Dear My Hero by Risa Taneda.

Strike the Blood Final[]

Strike the Blood Final is the fifth and final season of the Strike the Blood anime series. It was announced on June 29, 2021 with returning cast and staff.[12] Like previous seasons, it will be released in OVA format. The 4-episode OVA will be released in between March 30, 2022 and July 29, 2022.[13][14]
