Strike the Blood (ストライク・ザ・ブラッド Sutoraiku za Buraddo), or also known as SutoBura (ストブラ), is an original Japanese light novel series written by Gakuto Mikumo and illustrated by Manyako that was published from May 2011 to October 2023, encompassing twenty-two volumes and four side stories. It received a manga adaptation that began serialisation from June 2012 to March 2017, compiled into ten tankōbon volumes. It received an anime adaptation that began airing from October 2013 to March 2014, encompassing twenty-four episodes and compiled into DVDs. Thereafter, it received succeeding anime OVAs that was released on November to December 2015, November 2016 to May 2017, December 2018 to September 2019, January 2020, April 2020 to June 2021, March 2022 to July 2022 respectively.
Plot[]
The Fourth Primogenitor, Kaleid Blood, is the world's strongest vampire that is not supposed to exist; however, he has emerged in Japan with his twelve familiars to spread chaos. For the observation and potential obliteration of this Fourth Primogenitor, the Japanese government and the Lion King Organization has decided to dispatch an attack mage known as a Sword Shaman. For some reason, the one chosen for the role is an apprentice Sword Shaman, Yukina Himeragi, who is just a middle-school girl! Wielding the strongest anti-demon spirit spear, Yukina has arrived at the Demon District, Itogami Island, to find the Fourth Primogenitor. However, upon finding him, she becomes confused about the true identity of the Fourth Primogenitor being Kojou Akatsuki as he could not even remember how or why he is the Fourth Primogenitor!

Strike the Blood began as a light novel series written by Gakuto Mikumo, illustrated by Manyako, and published by ASCII Media Works under their Dengeki Bunko imprint since May 10, 2011.[1] Its main story concluded on August 7, 2020,[2] encompassing twenty-two volumes, whilst its side story concluded on March 2023, encompassing four volumes. It has been licensed and published in English by Yen Press under their Yen On imprint since September 22, 2015 until November 22, 2022.[3]

Strike the Blood received a manga adaptation illustrated by TATE and published by ASCII Media Works under their Dengeki Daioh magazine since June 2012 and compiled into tankōbon since December 2012.[4] Its main story concluded on March 2017, encompassing ten volumes. It was published as a 4-koma anthology illustrated by various artists released on February 27, 2014, encompassing one volume, whilst illustrated by Ryuryū Akari serialised on October 2016 until April 2020.[5][6] It has been licensed and published in English by Yen Press since October 2015 until April 2018.[3]

Video Game[]
Strike the Blood was part of the 2D arcade fighting game Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax as well as the turn-based RPG mobile game Dengeki Bunko: Crossing Void wherein Kojou Akatsuki and Yukina Himeragi were playable characters. It was featured in the action RPG Tenka Hyakken -Zan- wherein Yukina and Sayaka Kirasaka were playable characters during a collaboration event.[7] whilst in the mobile game DanMachi: Memoria Freese wherein various characters were playable characters during a crossover event.[8]
