Strike the Blood (ストライク・ザ・ブラッド Sutoraiku za Buraddo), also known as SutoBura (ストブラ), is a Japanese light novel series by Gakuto Mikumo with illustrations by Manyako. The series received a manga adaptation, which began serialization in June 2012, and has since concluded and compiled into ten tankōbon volumes. The series received a 24-episode anime adaptation, which began broadcast on October 4, 2013. Multiple OVAs have also been released.
Plot
The Fourth Primogenitor is the world's strongest vampire that should only exist in legends, but he has emerged in Japan with twelve familiars to spread chaos. For the observation and obliteration of this fourth primogenitor, the government and Lion King Organization decided to dispatch an attack mage known as a Sword Shaman. For some reason, the one chosen for the observation was an apprentice Sword Shaman girl, Yukina Himeragi, who is just a middle-school girl!
Wielding the strongest anti-demon spirit spear, Yukina arrived at Demon District, Itogami Island to find the fourth progenitor. When she finds him, she becomes confused about the true identity of the fourth progenitor, Kojou Akatsuki. Not to mention the boy cannot remember how or why he is the fourth progenitor!
Light Novel
Strike the Blood began as a light novel series written by Gakuto Mikumo and illustrated by Manyako. ASCII Media Works has published the novels under their Dengeki Bunko imprint since May 10, 2011.[1] The series has been published in English by Yen Press under the Yen On imprint since September 22, 2015.[2] A side story series, titled Strike the Blood APPEND, began publishing since January 10, 2018.

Manga
A manga adaptation by TATE began serialization in June 2012 in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Daioh magazine.[3] It was compiled into ten tankōbon volumes between December 2012 and March 2017. The series has been published in English by Yen Press between October 2015 and April 2018.[2]
A 4-koma spin-off by Ryuryū Akari, titled Strike the Blood: This Is Saikai Academy's Junior High Division (ストライク・ザ・ブラッド こちら彩海学園中等部 Sutoraiku za Buraddo Kochira Saikai Gakuen Chūtō-bu), began serialization in Dengeki Bunko Magazine in October 2016.[4][5] The series went on hiatus on January 2018, before resuming serialization in September 2018.

Anime
The series was adapted into a 24-episode television anime series in 2013, produced by Silver Link and Connect. Subsequent releases, including sequels, have been released in OVA format.
